Gender Pay Report - Red Bull Technology

2022 RESULTS

This is our fourth Gender Pay Gap report in accordance with the Equality Act 2010 (Gender Pay Gap Information) Regulations 2017. The gap is based on six separate calculations of the difference in the average pay of male and female – regardless of the nature of their work – across the relevant legal entity, in our case Red Bull Technology.

PAY QUARTILES

The quartiles are calculated by listing the rates of pay for each employee across the business – from highest to lowest – then spitting that list into four equal sized groups and calculating the percentage of males and females in each group. Our workforce is predominately male which is reflected in each quartile by the percentage of male being greater than the percentage of female.

Lower Quartile – 80% Male 20% Female
Lower Middle – 96% Male 4% Female
Upper Middle – 98% Male 2% Female
Upper Quartile – 93% Male 7% Female

MEDIAN AND MEAN GAPS CALCULATED FOR BOTH SALARY AND BONUSES

The mean pay gap is a measure of the difference between female’s mean hourly rate of pay across the whole company compared to male’s mean hourly rate of pay across the whole company. This measure is strongly influenced by the number of males and females in different roles. With more males at senior levels our average salary (mean or median) is higher than our average female salary.

The median hourly rate for male employees is calculated by ranking all male employees from the highest paid to the lowest paid and taking the hourly rate of pay of the person in the middle. This is the median hourly rate for males. The median hourly rate for female employees is similarly calculated. The median pay gap is then the difference between female’s median hourly rate of pay and the men’s median hourly rate of pay.

These median and mean calculations are also carried out when comparing bonus pay over a twelve month period. The proportion of males and females awarded any bonus pay over that period is also reported.
